Social learning enables Learners to take on the role of a Mentor to share their experience and knowledge with Mentees to help them grow and elevate their career. Colleagues can also engage in Coffee Chats to foster a sense of community and belonging elevating the cohesion and connections within your organization.
This article provides a high-level overview of the aspects of Mentorship which can be reached through the LMS, for a full overview of the Mentorship application please review the following resources:
Getting Access to Mentorship
Mentorship is an add-on which can enhance the learning options available in your LMS.
To get access to Mentorship, please reach out to your Client Success Manager or Account Manager to learn more.
Accessing Mentorship as an Admin
Permissions
The Modify Permission under Mentorship grants admins access to the following aspects of Mentorship:
- The Mentorship application

Mentorship in the LMS:
- Mentorship Admin Menu Item
- Mentorship Programs
- Mentorship Activity action on the Users Report
- Mentorship results in the Transcript
| Role: Section Access | Permission |

| Mentorship > mentorship | Modify permission |
- Admins must have the User Transcript Permission to access Mentorship results on the Transcript.
- Admins with the Mentorship -- Modify permission can view and modify users in the Mentorship application even if they don't have the Users -- View or Users -- Modify permissions.
User Management Handling
The User Management settings of an Admin determine which Users an Admin can view and modify when they navigate to the Mentorship application.
Mentorship Programs
Mentorship Programs can be found in the left-hand menu of the Admin Experience, here Admins can see the Mentorship Programs that they have access to manage. It is also possible to create new Mentorship Programs:
- Add from template
- Add custom
When these actions are used, the Mentorship Program creation workflow is opened in the Mentorship application, more information on this workflow can be found here:
Mentorship Activity
On the Users Report, with one Learner selected, the View Mentorship Activity action is available, this will take you to the Mentorship Application to see Mentorship Activity for the selected Learner.
Learner Dashboard Configuration
Admins who can manage Templates can add the following to the Learner Experience Dashboard to surface Mentorship to their Learners:
- Mentorship Tile
- Mentorship Sessions Tile
- Mentorship Ribbon
- Mentorship Private Menu Item
Transcript
Admins can review Mentorship results and engagement for their Learners on the Transcript, this is presented in the Mentorship section, which contains:
- Mentorship badges
- Matches and Sessions
- Certificates
Accessing Mentorship as a Learner
Learners can access the Mentorship Application using the Mentorship Private Menu Item and the Mentorship Tile.
Key elements of Mentorship are surfaced through the Mentorship Ribbon and Sessions tile.
Mentorship Ribbon
The Mentorship Ribbon provides a high-level overview of the programs and matches available for the Learner.
Programs
- Programs available for enrollment are displayed
- Programs the Learner has enrolled into are displayed
Active Matches
Users that the Learner has matched with across all of their Mentorship Programs, with the following details are displayed for each matched User:
- Name
- Program Name
- Role
- Session count
- A link to view the tasks for the match
Match Requests
Users that have requested to match with the Learner will be displayed here, with the following details for each prospective match:
- Name
- Program Name
- Role
- Action to approve the match

Users who have been surfaced as prospective matches for the Learner to review be displayed here, with the following details for each prospective match:
- Name
- Program Name
- Match %
- Role
- Action to View the match
Sessions Tile
The Sessions Tile displays the Learner's upcoming Sessions to help them stay organized and aware of their scheduled Mentorship engagements. The following details are displayed for each Session:
- Session type
- Session count
- Role
- Session Date
- Action to view Session details
