Add a Video Learning Object

The Video Learning Object is used to present video content to Learners.  You have the option to upload content directly into your SkillSync LMS portal or link to content hosted elsewhere.

Video Learning Objects only support MP4 and WEBM files.

Adding a Video

To add a Video to an Online Course, follow this method:

1. Access your SkillSync LMS Portal as an Administrator.
2. Navigate to the Admin Experience.
3. Open the Courses menu from the left-hand side.
   
4. Select Courses from the Courses menu. The Courses report will open.
5. Select the Online Course you want to add a Video to, or create a new Online Course.
   
6. From the Add/Edit Online Course page, scroll down to the Syllabus of the Course. Click Add Learning Object.
   
7. Select Video from the Learning Object options.
   
8. Click Next.
9. Upload the video, and apply relevant details.
   

When adding a Video Learning Object you will be asked to review three sections of settings. They are General, Video and Options.

This section contains information that may be relevant to you and your organization as it relates to the Video Learning Object.

Vimeo Videos

At this point in time SkillSync LMS does not support the usage of Vimeo content as a Video Learning Object. If you would like to reference Vimeo content, please attach a link to a Object Learning Object instead of a Video.

Google Drive Videos

At this point in time, a Google Drive video cannot be used directly as a Video Learning Object. It can be used as a Object Lesson with the Google Drive video referenced by URL, or directly downloaded and uploaded. Follow this method to use a Google Drive video via URL in an iFrame:

1. Open the preview page of a publicly accessible video.
2. Click the 3 dots icon on the top-right then "Open in new window".
3. Click the 3 dots icon again in new window, then "Embed item". A snippet of code you can share will appear. Copy only the URL.
   
4. Paste the URL as the Video Source of a Video Learning Object.
