When you create a Course, you may want someone else to look over the Course to confirm information or functionality before publishing it for Learners. With the Reviewer feature in Create, a content creator can invite Reviewers to review their Course and provide feedback prior to publication.
How to Invite/Re-Invite Reviewers
Any LMS User with a Create License and any other LMS Admin who has a valid Email Address listed in their account can be set as a Reviewer for a Create Course. You can invite Reviewers both through your Workspace and the Course you are seeking feedback on. We will outline both of these options in the following sections.
Inviting Reviewers Within the Workspace
You can assign Reviewers to a Course directly within your Workspace, provided that the Course is in that same Workspace. Follow the steps below to assign Reviewers to a Course in your Workspace:
- Open SkillSync Create.
- Click on the options menu for the desired Course.
- Select Manage Reviewers.
- Start by typing the name of the User or email address. A drop-down list will open with a list of all available Users based on the provided information. This will be refined as you enter more letters.
- Select the User to be set as a Reviewer.
- Once a Reviewer has been selected, an second field where you can enter additional instructions for the Reviewer becomes available. Here you can provide the Reviewer with any specific information related to the Course.
- Click Send Invites.
Inviting Reviewers Within the Course
Reviewers can also be invited from within a Create Course. In Create, open the Course and follow the steps below:
- Click Comments in the right-hand menu.
- Click on Manage Reviewers.
- Start by typing the name of the User or email address. A drop-down list will open with a list of all available Users based on the provided information. This will be refined as you enter more letters.
- Select the User to be set as a Reviewer.
- Once a Reviewer has been selected, an second field where you can enter additional instructions for the Reviewer becomes available. Here you can provide the Reviewer with any specific information related to the Course.
- Click Send Invites.
Accessing a Course to Review It
LMS Admins with a Create license can access the Course to review through the Reviews tab in SkillSync Create, after logging in normally through the LMS. Note that Courses will only appear in this tab if the User has been set as a Reviewer for that Course. If a Creator is mentioned in the Course comments (using the @ function) of a Course by another Creator, they will receive a notification, but that Course will not appear in the Reviews tab.
LMS Admins without a Create license can only access the Course for review through the link in the invitation email. Once their account is validated, the Reviewer will be redirected to the Reviews page where they can view all the Courses available for them to review.
Re-Invite a Reviewer
A content creator can send another invitation to Reviewers if they are unable to locate the previous invitation email.
In Create, follow these steps to re-invite a Reviewer to a Course:
- Open the Course in the Course Editor.
- Click Comments in the right-hand menu.
- Click Manage Reviewers.
- Locate the Reviewer in the available list. Click the three-dot menu next to the Reviewer's account and select the Send review link notification option.
Comments, Replies & Mentions
Comments can be used to provide feedback on a Course prior to publication. As an Admin, you can create and reply to Comments in a Create Course, in addition to other actions, depending on if your access is at the Course level or Workspace level. The specific permissions are outlined below:
Any Admin who has access to a Create Course (even as a Reviewer) can:
- Leave a Comment on a slide.
- Reply to a Comment.
- Delete their own Comments or Replies.
- Mention another User in their Comment (using the @ before the User's name). This will send a notification email to the mentioned User. Note that only Users with access to the Course can be mentioned in a Comment. If an Admin's name does not come up when you try to mention them, you must first add them as a Reviewer.
Any Creator who has access to the Workspace where the Course is housed has the same permissions listed above, in addition to:
- Delete any Comments or Replies.
- Add or remove a Reviewer from the Course.
Add a Comment to a Course
You can add a Comment to a Course from the Reviews tab. In Create, follow these steps:

- In the Reviews tab, click on the Course you wish to comment on.
- Click Comments in the right-hand menu.
- Under the Page menu, click Add Comment.
- A comment bubble will show on the top right side of the slide and a text box will open in the Page panel.
You can click and drag the comment bubble around on the slide to point out a certain item. This can also be done after saving your Comment. - After typing in your Comment, you can click Save to add your Comment, or Cancel to cancel it. Click on the three dot menu next to your Comment to Edit or Delete it.
In a specific Comment, you can mention anyone who has access to the Create Course, and they will receive an email notifying them of the mention.
How to Remove Reviewers From a Course
When an Admin is uninvited as a Reviewer for a Course, they will not receive a notification that they have been removed. The link from their invite will cease to work for the Course.
How to Remove Reviewers
Removing a Reviewer from a Course can be completed through the Course Editor. In Create, please advise the following:

- In Create, click on the Course that the Reviewer has access to.
- Click Comments in the right-hand menu.
- Click on the Page tab.
- Click Manage Reviewers.
- Locate the Reviewer in the available list. Click the three-dot menu next to the Reviewer's account and select Remove.
